Organization Changes
Michigan State University is a constantly changing entity, any changes made to university organizations need to be reflected in all university sytems. To support that need The Organization of Interest (OOI) system was created. It maintains university organizations (Orgs) and organizational structures, and historical changes. In addition to providing Organization Codes for university units, the OOI system provides the ability to create many relationships between those units and different organizational structures. It also allows for the creation of both university-defined orgs and orgs defined by units for use by units. An orgaizational change process is a complex activity involving multiple systems, the OOI system is the first step. For more information, see the Overview of the Organization of Interest Database and Attributes.
