Planning and Budgets System Support
The Planning and Budget System is a web-based planning tool to collaboratively plan, budget and forecast. This web page provides information and materials to assist MSU staff using this system.
Below are some of the key features of this application:
- Standardized approach to planning and budgeting.
- Easy access to data included in the budget.
- Built-in workflow to help streamline the process.
- The capability of consolidating and preserving underlying data.
- The ability for units to delegate planning to the department level.
The Planning and Budget applications are accessible from the EBS Portal, based on your assigned security role. To access the portal, click the EBS Login button at the top of this website and log in using your MSU NetID and password.
Security Roles
Access to the Planning and Budget applications is determined by the security roles granted within D6501. Workflow screens will be different depending on the security role entered for each application. View this document to read about Cognos Enterprise Planning roles.
Required Software
The Cognos Contributor Web Client must be installed on your computer to use the Planning and Budgets system. Find installation instructions and a download link here.

Program Allocation
